HTC Desire 326G launched, specs and price in India

HTC has been on a roll recently in India as they unveiled many new handsets in India. They released the HTC One M9+, One E9+ and HTC Desire 326G dual sim in India in the past week. The HTC Desire 326g launched by them is a device of particular interest to the sub 10k demographic. We will talk more about this device in detail as we uncover more of it’s features and give you a brief hands on preview of this device. The desire 326g comes with all of the features people would ask for in a budget phone but there is a lot of competition in the sub 10k category and only the final pricing of this phone would tell whether it would heat up the competition more or not because frankly enough we have the Redmi 2 as well as the YU Yureka both of which are amazing value for money propositions.

HTC Desire 326G specifications:

The HTC Desire 326g comes with the following things under the hood:

Chipset: Spreadtrum SC7731G.
CPU: 1.2 GHz Quad-core processor.
Primary Memory/RAM: 1 GB of RAM.
Internal Storage: 8 GB of internal memory.
Expandable storage: Supports up to 32 GB of expandable storage via microSD card.

Camera on the HTC Desire 326G:

The phone has both a primary camera of 8 MP capable of shooting 1080p full HD videos at 30 FPS and a secondary camera of 2 MP capable of shooting 720p videos at 30 FPS. The primary camera has autofocus as well as LED flash.
Though HTC phones are known for their camera quality but this particular model’s camera didn’t stand apart from the rest as we tested it during the short duration that we had and it was unable to produce noiseless photos in medium to low lighting conditions. Apart from this fact another noticeable thing was the pictures were grainy and even though the primary camera is an 8 mega pixel camera, it didn’t perform like one! The secondary camera is good enough for some selfies but don’t expect too much from this one too.

Design and build quality of the phone:

The phone has a plastic back and with a little metallic finish along the sides it does feel good to hold in hand and like the HTC Desire 526G plus it has a similar design style where the front has stereo speakers and their placement is same on both the phones. The device is 146g in weight and not too heavy. The phone could have been made a bit more compact as it’s visible that some of the area on the top as well as the bottom has been wasted in the bezel of the phone.

Display and platform of HTC Desire 326G dual sim phone:

The phone has a 4.5 inch HWVGA display i.e. with a resolution of 480×854 pixels which roughly translates to an on screen pixel density of 218 ppi. The phone has a 57.4% screen to body ratio and the display supports multi touch for more than 2 fingers.

HTC desire 326g android version info

The phone ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat by default and whether it would receive the Android Lollipop upgrade or not is a matter of concern. It also comes with the HTC trademark Sense UI with HTC BlinkFeed which is something found to be a good daily feature by many people who use HTC phones.

The device is available in White Birch as well as Black Onyx colours.

Battery life and connectivity options in the Desire 326g:

The device has a small screen with a low resolution so the drain caused on the battery is not too much. It ships with a Li-ion 2000 mAh battery which easily lasts through the day on low to medium usage but on heavy usage you might need to charge your phone in between the day. The phone comes with standard WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, FM radio and a microUSB 2.0 port for connectivity. The phone is a dual sim, dual standby 3g phone where both of the SIM modules are micro SIM variants. The device also has accelerometer and proximity sensors as is standard with almost all smartphones these days.
The sound in the phone was pretty neat as HTC always makes it a point to include good quality stereo speakers in almost all of it’s phones.

Conclusion:

This device is made for the general masses who want a good sub 10k INR phone but still falls short of expectations in few areas. The final pricing hasn’t been revealed yet but it would be a major factor in determining whether this device can make a big dent in the market or not. The device will be launched in India somewhere around May 2015.
