12-Core AMD Strix Point Zen 5 CPU Performance Revealed

AMD Strix Point Zen 5 engineering sample matches 8-core 7700X in Blender benchmark and Ryzen 7 Pro 7840U scored 216.09

On May 17, it was revealed through a tweet by @9550Pro that an engineering sample of AMD’s Strix Point CPU, featuring 4 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores, has appeared in Blender benchmark results.

Strix Point is AMD’s upcoming Zen 5-based Ryzen mobile processor, set to succeed the Zen 4 processors like the Ryzen 7 Pro 7840U.

In the Blender benchmark, the median score for this CPU was 270.92.

For comparison:

  • 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 7700X scored 269.02
  • 12-core Ryzen 9 3900X scored 267.89
  • Intel Core i7-13700HX scored 255.58
  • Ryzen 7 Pro 7840U scored 216.09

These results suggest that the new Zen 5 CPU’s performance is on par with the 8-core Ryzen 7 7700X.
