We think that Apple might update the MacBook Pro lineup soon as this year we didn’t hear anything at WWDC 2018, held just a couple of days back. Last year’s MacBook was loved by some, hated by some and overall it was not a total package that everyone expected. But this year, Apple might be working on a new MacBook Pro that will be powerful enough to meet the needs of all.
Till now, we have got some hints as a device listed as ‘MacBookPro14.3’ has appeared on Geekbench, and the listing reveals that it is being powered by the new hexa-core Intel Core i7-8750H Coffee Lake processor, clocked at 2.21GHz with Turbo Boost up of 4.1GHz. These speed counts are really impressive and as per GeekBench, the device has a single-core score of 4,902 and a multi-core score of 22,316. These scores are away ahead of the current MacBook Pro. Also, in terms of RAM, we will see an upgrade as there will be 32GB of RAM available. This was a demand that hasn’t been fulfilled by Apple for a while. So in terms of raw power and specifications, the MacBook Pro 2018 lineup will surely be impressive, especially for some power users who do a lot of heavy tasks while on the move like video editing, designing and render jobs while doing other tasks.
It’s now clear that the new MacBook Pro 2018 could come via Apple’s Online Store and in the UK already on the product page of 13-inch MacBook Pro, there is a mention that shipping will start between June 6 to June 8. Though, the other higher-end models are expected to start shipping from May 30. But even in this year, we may not see major updates as Digitimes claims that as Apple has not brought a major upgrade to its MacBook product line since the releases of its new MacBook Pro back in 2016 and doesn’t have any plans for upgrades in 2018. Apple is shifting orders for models that are already in mass production to Foxconn and mentions that it is being done to save production costs and reduce risks. However, reports by DigiTimes claim that a new 13-inch MacBook model is going to arrive this year and that could be the new entry-level MacBook Pro, with upgraded specs.
Or this could also be the successor to the MacBook Air lineup which is due for an overhaul since ages!
