With a soaring market share and lot of faith from sellers and users alike AMD is marching really fast and grabbing a huge share of the processor market. But amidst all this fanfare AMD is yet to release the 3rd Gen variant of the Ryzen Threadripper lineup.

The AMD Threadripper lineup is famous for providing extreme number of cores and threads at a really competitive price point. This time the leaks have indicated that AMD is going to come up with a 32 core and 64 thread Threadripper processor. The new 32 core Threadripper has recently leaked on Geekbench and the scores are nothing short of extremely impressive!

On September 1, according to multiple reports from tech media, a new 32-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper Zen 2 (third generation of Ryzen Threadripper) processor’s score was found on GeekBench.

From GeekBench’s score page few relevant details have been let out. The ThreadRipper’s base frequency is 2.2GHz, the highest boost frequency is 4.17GHz. It will come with 32 cores and 64 threads. This leak is slightly different from the previous 3 GHz frequency of UserBenchmark leak, which might have been a test chip problem.

This new third-generation ThreadRipper was shown running with 32 GB of memory on the Windows system. It had a single-core score of 5523 points and a multi-core score of 68576 points.

This multi-core score exceeds 90% of AMD’s ThreadRipper 2950X and 55% more than the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X.

Of course, considering the unreliability of this information and the instability of the test chip of Ryen 3rd Gen Threadripper leaked on GeekBench, the running score may only be a reference figure. The final actual score on professional test benches etc. might be even higher!

At present, the 3rd Generation ThreadRipper is likely to stay at 32 cores. After all, this is more than enough for consumer applications, and there’s no significant competition from Intel to AMD when it comes to the price point at which the ThreadRipper is going to be offered!
