The best of 7nm, now is affordable!
AMD today announced a multitude of products. They announced the 7nm GPUs that were teased from so long. Then came the time for Ryzen 3000 series processors. Read on to know more about all the AMD Ryzen 3rd Gen CPUs announced today!
Starting from the top-notch model the 12 core Ryzen 9 3900x would retail for a price of $499 which effectively makes it a great choice for people looking for an overkill CPU for productivity tasks!
Ryzen 9 series details
The Ryzen 9 3900X is their flagship CPU with 12 cores and 24 threads and it’s aimed towards users who need extreme productivity on the AM4 platform. It has a total cache memory of 70 MB which honestly sounds like overkill! It also has a TDP of just 105W and is pretty power efficient as well.
The 3900X has a base clock of 3.8 GHz and a boost clock of up to 4.6 GHz. This is definitely great for a 12 core CPU and we expect the overclockers to really push this CPU to its limits soon!
It would go on sale from 7th of July for $499 and that means it’s still more than a month away!
The AMD Ryzen 7 3800X would go on sale for 399 USD and its smaller brother the Ryzen 7 3700X would go on sale for 329 USD.
During the event, AMD also benchmarked the Ryzen 7 3700X against Intel’s Core i7 9700K. The Ryzen counterpart has double the threads at 16 threads. It has a TDP of just 65W and 3.6 GHz base clock and a boost clock of up to 4.4 GHz. The Ryzen CPU was faster and more power efficient than its Intel counterpart and this is indeed a huge win for Team Red!
The 3700X would start selling for a price of 329 USD and this makes it the fastest octa-core processor at this price!
Then there’s the slightly beefier Ryzen 9 3800X which has a similar number of cores and threads. But it has higher clock speeds than the current Ryzen 7 2700X. It has a base clock of 3.5 GHz and a boost clock up to 4.5 GHz. It features 36 MB of cache memory and a TDP of 105W. The Ryzen 7 3800X would be available for 399 USD.
The Ryzen 5 3rd gen series is the most exciting for casual users and gamers. This includes the Ryzen 5 3600X and the Ryzen 5 3600 CPUs. The 3600X has a clock speed of 3.8 GHz base and a boost clock of 4.4 GHz. With 35 MB of cache memory and a 95W TDP and a price tag of just $249 expect a lot of builds to feature this CPU soon!
The normal Ryzen 5 3600 has a 3.6 GHz base clock speed and a 4.2 GHz boost clock speed. It has a TDP of just 65W and 35 MB onboard cache memory. With a price of 199 USD, it’s a lucrative processor for people looking for a decent PC build.
