According to Tom’s Hardware latest report, AMD’s new H-series processors have now appeared on an e-commerce website, and the news says that the Ryzen 7 4800H will have an 8-core 16-thread configuration.
At present, an Asus notebook equipped with AMD’s new H-series processor is listed on the e-commerce platform. It has four configurations, which are equipped with R7 4800H, R7 4800HS, R5 4600H, and R5 4600HS. It is not clear what the S suffix means. A lot of foreign tech media have speculated that HS’s chips may be more energy efficient.
The e-commerce platform shows that the new notebook will be available on December 31, 2019, and its authenticity needs to be verified.
The codename for this upcoming ASUS laptop is Asus GA401IU/R7-4800H 14 16GB 512GB W10 (GA401IU-HE001T). If we go by previous naming convention for ASUS laptops then it means that this laptop would be from the gaming series. Most probably this is going to be an updated ASUS Rog Zephyrus laptop.

3DMark shows that this R7 4700U has 8 cores. It is unclear whether there is hyper-threading, the main base frequency is 2 GHz, and the Boost frequency can reach 4.2GHz.
AMD is expected to enter the mobile market next year, and the new U-series and H-series processors will most likely be released at CES 2020 next month.
