According to some recent leaks and reports from some tech sites, AMD will introduce the new Zen 2 architecture and Ryzen 3000 series CPU at the Computex exhibition in Taiwan two weeks later. Currently, the latest information related to AMD Ryzen 9 shows that the 3850X will be the top processor of the 3000 series.
AMD Ryzen 9 3850X leaks and performance
According to the current leaked information, the Ryzen 9 3850X will use a 16-core 32-thread design. It has been rumoured that the Ryzen 9 3850X would have a base clock of 4.3GHz and it would support turbo boost up to 5.1GHz. The TDP for this processor is rated at 135W. And the price is expected to be around $499. This is going to be about 35K INR. This price advantage and performance gap can make even the ThreadRipper tremble. But according to AMD’s latest roadmap, the third-generation Ryzen ThreadRipper has been removed from this year’s product roadmap. Right now there is probably no new ThreadRipper coming in this year!
Although the performance of the Ryzen 9 3850X is still to be verified. But a lot of tech publications believe that the 32-core 64-threaded AMD second-generation ThreadRipper 2990WX will continue to sell. Although some users will definitely go for the Ryzen 9 3850X instead of the second generation of thread ripper. The performance of the 2nd Gen was also superlative. But it’s natural that previous gen may still be compared to the new Ryzen 9 3850X.
It is expected that by 2020, AMD will introduce third-generation ThreadRipper CPUs and the performance of third gen of thread rippers may be between 2990WX and 3850X. Or it can be even more! Honestly, we have our fingers crossed as of now!
