According to the news since last year, Apple is expected to launch a new AirPods headset, which is AirPods 3, within this year. And more and more news indicates that AirPods 3 is coming.
According to popular Taiwanese website DigiTimes, they have received industry news that seven suppliers have begun to provide Apple with components for next-generation products, including Apple Watch, AirPods and iPhone BT boards, all in SiP packages.
The 7 suppliers are Semco, LG Innotek, Kinsus, Unimicron, Nanya, Zhending and AT&S.
We recently learned that Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Debby Wu previously reported that AirPods 3 will be released later in 2021, and its design is similar to AirPods Pro, including a shorter headphone handle. This will mark the first update to the appearance of AirPods since March 2019.
In addition, it is reported that the price of AirPods 3 will be lower than AirPods Pro. However, AirPods 3 may lack some high-end features, such as active noise reduction. As for AirPods Pro 2, it is rumoured that it will be launched next year, equipped with the second-generation fitness tracking function, and the design is more compact, similar to the new Beats Studio Buds released by Apple earlier this month.
