Apple’s annual Autumn event is a big tech industry event. This is because of the fact that Apple unveils its latest and great iPhones every year at this event. Last year’s event felt like a kind of a letdown as the iPhone XS and XS Max felt like minor incremental updates and didn’t really improve much over the traditional iPhone X design. Even this year’s upcoming iPhones are expected to still sport the notch and not go fully bezel-less like the competition. In the hyper-competitive mobile market, we have smartphones like the RealMe X which have started offering a fully bezel-less display for as low as 17K INR. But the flagship iPhones still don’t have a lot of that which makes competing smartphones great.
On the other hand, great cameras, phenomenal software experience and a lot of other stuff make the iPhones still worthy of their flagship tags. This year’s iPhones are expected to boast of significant camera improvements and are expected to be quite faster compared to what’s already out there.
The 2019 iPhones will have three models. One will be the iPhone XR successor and it’s expected that the XR branding will be dropped from this year.
The LCD model will still sport a 6.1″ display while there will be two OLED models with 5.8″ and 6.5″ sizes. All three models would have significant camera improvements. The cheapest would have dual cameras while the other two would boast triple-camera setups.
Apple is also expected to use a different matte finish this time or something close to frosted glass effect for the upcoming iPhones. The devices are expected to better in terms of water resistance and shatter proofing. Face ID is also expected to be better and work in very wide angle scenarios as well. But the notch isn’t expected to go anywhere this year.
3D touch won’t be present but rather long press haptic feedback would be built inside all the new iPhones. There will be bilateral wireless charging support along with better battery life and a new co-processor for low power tasks.
The new iPhones are also expected to sport the new A13 chipset which may take the crown of the most powerful mobile chipset currently.
There are also rumours of updates to the Apple watch series in terms of Titanium Apple watch and Ceramic models.
There are also rumours about a new 10.2 inch iPad and a 16 inch MacBook Pro may also come soon. But the rumours indicate that there might be a second fall event for these announcements!
The event will happen at 10 am pacific time on September 10. Which means that Indian viewers can watch it at 10:30 PM or so in India!
