A lot has been speculated in the recent past about the new iPad Pro launch. But recently an icon which was found in the developer beta 5 of iOS 12 confirmed some key details about the soon to be launched iPad Pro. The new iPad Pro 2018 would have very thin bezels like the iPhone X but it won’t have a notch.
9to5Mac reported that there’s a new tiny blue iOS 12 icon which shows that the tablet has thinner and more equal border lines along with the home row containing apps present at the bottom.
Last year there was a HomePad firmware release which revealed the front design of the iPhone X similarly. So it’s very likely that this icon even though it’s not any leak per se is a direct look at how the next iPad Pro will look like.
There were some existing rumours too about Apple opting for a bezel-less design for the next iteration of its pro tablet, so it all makes sense.
Though there are rumours about Apple’s Face ID technology being available on the next iPad Pro, if the bezels are super thin that won’t be possible without a notch.
So it’s very likely that the bezels would be thick enough to allow for the whole Face ID camera and sensor setup to be present even without the notch.
There’s also another huge question which is whether the next iPad pro would have the 3.5 mm jack or not. All current rumours point to the answer being in negative. Though personally, we would love to see the jack being present in the phone.
