CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA – Apple unveiled the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max today. These new models feature aerospace-grade titanium, which provides strength while keeping them lightweight, making them the lightest Pro models ever produced by Apple.
The design has contoured edges and an Action button that can be customized to personalize the iPhone experience. The camera upgrades are impressive, offering the equivalent of seven pro lenses and improved image quality.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max also includes a new 5x Telephoto camera. The A17 Pro chip brings next-level gaming experiences and pro performance, while the USB-C connector provides supercharged speeds and enables powerful workflows. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro lineup includes Roadside Assistance via satellite to help users in case of car trouble while off the grid.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be available in four stunning finishes: black titanium, white titanium, blue titanium, and natural titanium. Pre-orders start on Friday, September 15, with availability beginning on Friday, September 22.
Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said,
“This is the most pro lineup we have ever created, with a state-of-the-art titanium design, the best iPhone camera system yet, and the A17 Pro chip, which ushers in a new chapter of performance and games never before seen on iPhone. iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max represent the best of Apple design and industry-first innovations to help enrich the everyday experiences of our users while enabling them to unleash their creativity.”
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max come in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes, respectively. They feature a strong and lightweight titanium design, a first for the iPhone, with a refined brush texture, contoured edges, and thin borders. The Pro lineup combines titanium, the toughest back glass, and Ceramic Shield for durability.
The new design also highlights the Super Retina XDR display with Always-On and ProMotion technologies. The Action button replaces the single-function switch, offering more options for quick access to the camera or flashlight, activating Voice Memos, Focus modes, Translate, and accessibility features.
The button’s press-and-hold gesture provides haptic feedback and visual cues for the intended action. Powering the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is the A17 Pro, the industry’s first 3-nanometer chip. It brings pro performance and features significant improvements to the CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine.
The camera systems on both models pack the equivalent of seven pro lenses, enabled by A17 Pro, and offer computational photography capabilities. The Telephoto camera on the iPhone 15 Pro Max provides the longest optical zoom ever on an iPhone. Night mode, Smart HDR, and video capabilities have also been enhanced.
The iPhone 15 Pro is ideal for creative professionals and filmmakers, supporting faster transfer speeds and offering new options for video recording, encoding, and color workflows. Spatial video capture will be available later this year. The iPhone 15 Pro lineup includes the USB-C connector for charging and data transfer, supports an Ultra Wideband chip for improved range and introduces Wi-Fi 6E and Thread integration.
It offers 5G support, MagSafe, improved audio quality, and eSIM capabilities. Safety features include Crash Detection, Emergency SOS via satellite, and the introduction of Roadside Assistance via satellite in the U.S., allowing users to connect with AAA in areas without cellular or Wi-Fi coverage.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max bring significant advancements in design, performance, camera capabilities, and connectivity, providing users with an exceptional iPhone experience.
