The Journey From 2.2 Mm to 1.5 Mm, Apple iPhone 15 Pro vs Previous Gen’s Bezels Comparison!

On August 5th, a South Korean source named yeux1122 shared a rendering on their Naver blog, showcasing a side-by-side comparison of Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro models.

According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple has implemented a new low-pressure injection molding technology (known as LIFO within the company) for the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models.

This innovation allows for thinner frames, reducing the distance between the display and the edges from 2.2 mm to 1.5 mm. In his statement, Gurman emphasized that the adoption of LIPO technology represents a significant step towards realizing Apple’s ideal smartphone design.

Additionally, he mentioned that the standard iPhone 15 versions would incorporate island displays, whereas the larger Pro and Pro Max screens would utilize the newer production method.

Furthermore, Gurman disclosed that Apple initially employed LIPO in the production of the Apple Watch Series 7, resulting in slimmer bezels and an expanded screen area.

He also indicated that the corporation intends to integrate this feature into future iPad designs down the line.
