apple m1x leaks

On February 17, information about the specifications of Apple’s M1X processor were found on the benchmark test website CPU Monkey. According to the information on this website, M1X has a huge improvement in CPU and GPU compared to the M1 chip.

CPUMonkey has said that the M1X chip will most likely be released in the second quarter of 2021, and the 2021 models of MacBook Pro, MacBook Pro 16 and iMac 27 will all use this chip.

As can be seen from the above figure, compared to the M1 chip, the M1X chip has been upgraded from 8 CPU cores to 12 CPU cores, using a combination of 8 high-performance cores + 4 low-power cores.

In terms of GPU, M1X’s GPU is a 16-core design with 256 execution units, which is double that of the past generation. With reference to the floating-point computing performance of the M1 chip at 2.6TFLOPS, the M1X should be able to double this to 5.2TFLOPS, which is already comparable to the GTX 1070 (6.5TFLOPS).

As for the process specifications, the M1X is also based on a 5nm process, and the CPU frequency remains unchanged at 3.2GHz.

In other aspects, the information also shows that Apple M1X may be equipped with a maximum of 32GB of memory, while M1 can only support max 16GB of memory.

In addition, the Apple M1X also supports the simultaneous connection of three displays, which has also been upgraded compared to the previous generation. So guys are you excited about the new machines which are about to come with the new Apple M1x chips? Do let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
