Apple M2 Max/Pro Top the PassMark Notebook Single-Core Benchmarks!

Apple Leads the Way With Exemplary Performance for Notebook Computers.
As reported on January 28, Apple’s recently released M2 Pro and M2 Max processors have taken the top spots on the PassMark notebook single-core benchmarks list.
According to data from PassMark, the 12-core M2 Max holds the number one position in the PassMark notebook single-core performance rankings. The M2 Pro models, with slightly lower frequencies, take the second and third spots, followed by the M2 model. The Intel 12th generation Core HX series processors come in fifth place.
It has also been reported that Intel’s 13th generation Core HX series gaming processors will be launched in February, with the Intel Core i9-13980HX model having a maximum frequency of 5.6GHz, which is anticipated to surpass the M2 Max and becoming the new top-performing laptop processor.
Official data shows that Apple’s latest flagship processor, the M2 Max chip, has 67 billion transistors, 10 billion more than the M1 Max chip and more than three times the number in the M2 chip, pushing the capabilities and performance of the Apple chip even further. The unified memory bandwidth is as high as 400GB/s, which is double that of the M2 Pro chip and four times that of the M2 chip. It also supports high-speed unified memory of up to 96GB.
The M2 Max chip features a new-generation 12-core CPU, similar to the M2 Pro chip. Its graphics processor is more powerful, with 38 cores and a larger L2 cache. Its graphics processing speed is up to 30% higher than that of the M1 Max chip.
