Apple Fixes a Ton of Security Flaws in iOS 16.3 /iPadOS 16.3 Update!

Immediate Update Recommended for all users.

News on January 24: Apple released the iOS / iPad OS 16.3 update today. In addition to launching iCloud Advanced Data Protection and Apple ID security keys, it also fixed many security vulnerabilities that existed in previous versions.

The full changelog can be accessed at:

We inquired about Apple’s official update log and found that this update fixes vulnerabilities in AppleMobileFileIntegrity, ImageIO, Kernel, Mail, Maps, Safari, and WebKit. For example, a vulnerability in the Weather app allows other apps to bypass Privacy settings.

Another vulnerability exists in WebKit (the engine of the Safari browser), which fixes a vulnerability that could lead to the execution of arbitrary malware.

Mac users who have upgraded to macOS Ventura 13.2, Apple TV users using tvOS 16.3, and Apple Watch users using watchOS 9.3 should not worry about these security holes.

It’s worth noting that Apple also released iOS 15.7.3, macOS Monterey 12.6.3, and macOS Big Sur 11.7.3, providing the same patches for users who haven’t (or have been unable) to update their devices to the latest versions.
