Apple has announced new software updates for its Home products, aimed at enhancing entertainment and daily convenience. The tvOS 18 update includes features like InSight, which provides real-time information about actors, characters, and music from Apple TV+ shows and movies.
Enhance Dialogue improves vocal clarity, while subtitles now automatically appear at the right moments. New screen savers and 21:9 support for projectors are also included.
Additionally, updates to Apple Music and FaceTime, as well as a redesigned Apple Fitness+, make these services more accessible and engaging on the big screen.
The Home app in iOS 18 introduces guest access and hands-free unlock with home keys, improving home entry convenience. Users can also monitor their electricity usage through the Home app in partnership with utilities like Pacific Gas & Electric Company.
New features in the Home app include compatibility with robot vacuum cleaners and AirPlay with Spatial Audio for an immersive audio experience.
Developer betas for tvOS 18, iOS 18, and HomePod software version 18 are available now, with public betas coming next month and free updates rolling out in the fall.
