“Control 2” Confirmed to Be in Development: The Sequel to Control Is Coming Soon!

Recently game publisher Remedy announced that it will jointly develop and publish the sequel to the game “Control” with 505 Games. The game was previously given away for free on the Epic Store, twice.
Control 2 (code-named Heron) will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S using Remedy’s Northlight game engine, the two announced on Friday.
The initial development budget of “Control 2” is 50 million euros (currently about 51 million dollars), and Remedy will retain the ownership of the intellectual property rights of the game. Development, marketing and post-launch investments, as well as future net revenue generated by the game, will be split equally between 505 Games and Remedy. Remedy Games is responsible for publishing games on the PC platform, and 505 Games is responsible for publishing games on console platforms. The project is currently in the conceptual stage.

Rami and Raffi Galante, co-CEOs of Digital Bros Group / 505 Games, said:
“We are excited to deepen our partnership with Remedy and together continue the success story of Control. Since its launch in 2019, Control has sold With over 3 million copies , the game is the largest investment 505 Games has ever made, so it holds a special place in our hearts. We thank the entire player community for making Control an ongoing favorite and even more exciting to launch Control 2.”
Mikael Kasurinen, game director of the Control series, said:
“Control 2 will take another leap into uncharted territory, and it will be an unexpected journey. It will take a while to launch, but to put it mildly, this is the most exciting thing I have ever done. Exciting project. It’s still early days, but worth the wait.”
The acclaimed game “Control” was released in 2019. Since its launch, Control has been nominated for 11 BAFTA Game Awards and won over 20 “Game of the Year” awards, including IGN’s Game of the Year 2019.
In Control’s story, Jesse Faden is alone in his search for answers, growing into a commander. The world of “Control” has its own story, and the companions Jesse meets on the journey also have their own stories. Working alongside other FBC agents, Jesse uncovers strange experiments and secrets. Players will use supernatural abilities, custom equipment and interactive environments to fight in an unfathomable world.
If the first game is anything to go by the second game could also be an absolute banger and promise hours of endless fun.
