Jio GigaFiber is a hot news now and the service is said to launch in 1,100 cities across the nation. Jio GigaFiber is a Fibre-To-The-Home (FTTH) broadband service providing speeds up to 1Gbps at a very nominal cost. It will not just work as an access point to the internet but also will provide entertainment and home automation options via the GigaTV set-top box and smart home devices.
Jio GigaFiber is capable of providing up to 1Gbps of speed using its optical fibre network, which will also help users stream Ultra HD content on TV, enjoy features like multi-party video conferencing, voice-activated virtual assistant, virtual reality gaming and shopping, and smart home solutions. VR Content is also supported as Jio GigaFiber users can connect a VR headset to enjoy 360-degree content in 4K resolution. The registrations for Jio GigaFiber will start from August 15 via MyJio app and Jio.com.
Jio GigaTV is a part of this plan where users will be able to enjoy Jio TV, Jio Cinema etc. at the push of a button or by using just voice. However, it is not sure yet whether Jio will launch a DTH service or not as Jio GigaFiber seems to provide a complete entertainment solution to users using the FTTH service.
As of now, the expectations and market analysts say that the pricing will be very aggressive and due to these, already Airtel has removed FUP from some of their broadband plans in a few cities as the company is currently proving one of the fastest fibre broadband solutions with a speed reaching up to 300mbps.
With the Jio GigaFiber, every user will get a GigaTV set-top box that they can use to stream or tune into content or the channels they like, so looks like Jio GigaFiber is opening a new path to high-speed internet connection as well as entertainment solution for the public.
