According to updates on December 29th, Strategy Analytics released a report today saying that 5G is the main contributor to the improvement of operator performance this year. 5G subscribers increased from 819 million in June to 924 million in September and surpassed 1 billion in the past 4-5 weeks. The momentum of global 5G development continues to increase.
According to the report, by the end of this month, 5G networks will cover 36% of the world’s population, and 5G mobile phones will soon account for half of global mobile phone sales
We also learned that Strategy Analytics expects that global 5G will continue to develop strongly in 2023. With 5G services in India going live last month, the market will make an additional contribution to Asia-Pacific growth next year, while more operators in Latin America will follow the example of Brazil and Chile in expanding 5G coverage.
According to reports, for 5G, this year will be an exciting year, because of the foundation of strong user growth, coupled with the wider deployment of 5G independent services, and these vertical solutions for operators and more advanced consumption new advanced network service opportunities for application.
According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in China, as of the end of November, the total number of mobile phone users of their country’s three basic telecommunications companies reached 1.684 billion. Among them, 5G mobile phone users reached 542 million, accounting for 32.2% of mobile phone users.
In India too Jio has rolled out their True 5G Services based on 5G SA and Airtel 5G too continues it’s march. Soon state-run companies might also join in. Let’s wait and watch to witness further growth of 5G Worldwide.
