Inspire2rise- lessons from the Batman

Even Batman falls some times ! But we all fall, we have to learn to rise ! I was watching the Batman Dark Knight Trilogy by Christopher Nolan last day and this was the most profound message visible in all the movies. No matter how hard we fall, we must never give up. Because as Harvey dent said once in the Dark Knight that

” The night is darkest just before the dawn.”

If hard times are on us then they are a test of our will and resolve. There’s a very popular story of King Akbar and Birbal. Once Akbar asked Birbal to tell him something that would be true forever. Something that could make him happy as well as sad at the same time. And Birbal replied,

“This too shall pass!”

After all this is life you must never give up on what you believe in from the core of your heart as the Batman did in the films. It’s not just another movie, you must learn from it. Batman constantly sends us the message that it doesn’t matter who you are, but if you are devoted to a cause from the whole of your heart then only can you be the one to usher in some change. To bring good.

As Ra’s Al Ghul himself told to Bruce Wayne in the prison cell in Batman Begins,

“If you make yourself more than just a man. If you devote yourself to an ideal. And if they can’t stop you. Then you become something else entirely. Legend. – Ra’s AL Ghul – Batman Begins”

There’s a particular passage from Charles Bukowski’s Factotum that strikes a chord in the deepest corners of my heart when I read it. Here it is for all of our readers,

“If you’re going to try, go all the
way. Otherwise, don’t even start.
This could mean losing girlfriends,
wives, relatives and maybe even
your mind. It could mean not eating
for three or four days. It could
mean freezing on a park bench. It
could mean jail. It could mean
derision. It could mean mockery—
isolation. Isolation is the gift. All
the others are a test of your
endurance, of how much you really
want to do it. And, you’ll do it,
despite rejection and the worst
odds. And it will be better than
anything else you can imagine. If
you’re going to try, go all the way.
There is no other feeling like that.

the nights will flame with fire. You
will ride life straight to perfect
laughter. It’s the only good fight
there is.”

Go out. Find your purpose, live for it, die for it. And on the far side of your journey you will find happiness that  you never thought could be yours.
