According to WCCFTECH’s reports, Intel revealed at a recent UBS conference that it will not skip the 10nm process and use the 7nm process directly. Intel said that Copper Lake and Ice Lake will be on track in the first and second half of 2020, respectively.
According to reports, Intel said its 14nm is still in a good position, but by the end of 2020, Intel will launch Ice Lake, the first 10nm server solution.
Faced with UBS’s question about whether Intel will skip 10nm and enter 7nm, Intel said:
“…… We are at a 10-nanometer stage. At present, the core basic technical problems have been solved, and we are in a stage of mass production. By the way, although 10 nanometers was delayed for several years before they came out, we finally completed the 10-nanometer process without reducing the required performance. We believe that it is of great value to continue to advance the 10-nanometer process, and there is an improved version of 10-nm + after 10 nm.”
So guys what do you think? Would Intel be able to catch up to AMD? This is the first time in a long while that AMD has gained a lead in almost all segments of the CPU market.
