Intel 11th-generation desktop CPU surfaces in online leaks!

Intel has just released the 10th generation desktop core processor (Comet Lake-S). But the next generation is also not far away. It’s code-named Rocket Lake, and today it was first seen in the 3DMark database.

The leak that we have on hand this time is a 6-core 12-thread model. From the UDIMM memory specifications, it is obviously the desktop version processor. The reference frequency is 3.5 GHz and the maximum turbo boost is 4.1 GHz. It is unremarkable, but it is only an engineering sample, after all. Considering the fact that it will be on 14nm process with a mature and upgraded micro-architecture, it is not a problem that the frequency will eventually exceed 10th gen Intel Core products.

Yes, Rocket Lake still continues to use the 14nm process. At present, it is necessary to see the next generation of Alder Lake, and the Intel desktop platform will usher in 10 nm process. But it is said that doing so would require a different interface!

Although the process is unchanged, Rocket Lake will upgrade the micro-architecture, adopt the same Willow Cove as the mobile platform Tiger Lake, and the internal graphics part is also expected to be upgraded to the Xe architecture at the same time. The interface for this one continues to be the current LGA1200.

Rocket Lake is rumoured to be released as early as the end of this year and as early as early next year (CES 2021 is a good time), which means that there is not much time left for Comet Lake-S 10 generation.
