Today, a lot of leaks have come through and now we know that Intel is soon going to release three Intel twelfth-generation Core Alder Lake processors. The leaks have brought us the parameters of the i5-12400 processor.
The upcoming Intel Core i5-12400 processor is a mid-range processor with no energy-efficient (small) core. It has 6 pure performance (large) cores and has 12 threads. The leaked processor has been tested in CPU-Z, AIDA64 and Cinbench R20 as can be seen from various screenshots floating around the Internet.
According to the CPU-Z screenshot, the maximum single-core frequency of the i5-12400 can reach 4.4 GHz, and the multi-core boost frequency can reach 4.0 GHz. It scored 681.7 points in the single-thread test and 4983.8 points in the multi-thread test, which is better than the 8-core 16-thread processor AMD R7 2700X.
In terms of power consumption and stability, the Intel Core i5-12400 can reach 78.5W and 60°C.
In Cinebench R20, the Core i5-12400 scored 659 points in the single-core test, which is higher than all current AMD Ryzen 5000 series. The multi-core score is comparable to that of the R5 5600X, which is also a six-core processor.
Wccftech has listed the performance ranking of the processor, as can be seen in the previous screenshot.
We do understand that Intel is expected to sell the 12-generation Core Alder Lake K series and KF series on or after November 4. It is not clear whether the non-K series will be sold together with the K series or not.
