According to some leaked benchmarks and reputed tech publications the Intel Core i5 8265UC has appeared in PassMark, UserBenchmark and Geekbench and other major benchmarking apps. But it is still unclear how accurate these benchmarks are. If any of these leaks are to be believed then we are definitely going to get newer laptops soon with this Intel chip in the mid-range price segment.
According to Geekbench’s leaked benchmark data, the Core i5 8265UC is a quad-core and octa-threaded processor. It would sport 6MB of L3 cache. The base frequency of this processor is 1.8GHz. It would have a maximum boost frequency of 3.89GHz. The single core score is 4670 points and the multicore score is 15998 points.
In the PassMark test, the CPU of the Intel Core i5-8265UC runs at 10,117. This score is higher than the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U. So if these numbers are anything to go by then Intel has definitely improved their low power CPU offerings this time around! The laptops containing these CPUs might arrive in one or two months!
On the UserBenchmark database, the Intel Core i5-8265UC exceeds the Ryzen 5 2500U by a good margin. The Ryzen 5 3500U is not included in this benchmark database.
Right now it is not certain whether the Core i5-8265UC would be coming by the end of this quarter or whether it would be launched next year! Stay tuned for more updates on this front! Don’t forget to comment below to tell your opinions about this update!
