iOS 18 AI Features Require iPhone 15 Pro, M1 iPads/Macs

Mark Gurman reveals iOS 18 AI features need iPhone 15 Pro or M1 iPads/Macs, encouraging users to upgrade devices.

On May 31, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg released new information about Apple’s iOS 18.

He stated that many of the upcoming AI features will require at least an iPhone 15 Pro or an M1 chip-equipped iPad or Mac.

This push is seen as a strategy by Apple to encourage users to upgrade their devices.

Gurman highlighted that Apple aims to transform Siri with advanced AI, enabling it to control specific app functions via voice.

This update will be part of Apple’s broader AI strategy, with more details expected to be revealed on June 10.

Siri’s enhancements will allow it to perform tasks like opening specific documents, moving notes, sending or deleting emails, and providing article summaries.

Currently, Siri’s functions are limited to simpler tasks such as playing music, finding information, or controlling smart home devices.

Gurman previously summarized several AI features expected in iOS 18, including voice memo transcription and improved photo functionality.

The Spotlight search will also be enhanced for faster and more reliable results.

This upgrade marks a significant step in Apple’s ongoing AI advancements, setting the stage for future developments in user interaction and device functionality.
