According to the latest news from sources on January 10 from China, the information shows that Lei Jun, the chairman and CEO of Xiaomi, stepped down as the chairman of Beijing Xiaomi Software Technology Co. Ltd. after resigning as the chairman of Xiaomi Film Co. Ltd.

Additionally, Liu Qin and Lin Bin resigned as directors, Lu Weibing was changed from general manager to executive director and manager, and Sun Qian was added to the main staff.

Beijing Xiaomi Software Technology Co. Ltd. was established in December 2011. The legal representative is Lu Weibing, with a registered capital of 3 million US dollars. Its business scope includes research and development of computer software and information technology; technical consulting; technical services; transfer of its own technology; technical training; sales Self-developed products, etc., are wholly owned by XIAOMIHKLIMITED.

We also learned that since 2021, Lei Jun has successively withdrawn from the positions of the legal representative, executive director or chairman of several Xiaomi-affiliated companies, which has attracted attention.
 
In January 2022, news related to “Lei Jun’s resignation from the chairman of Xiaomi Electronics Company” appeared on the hot searches list in China.
 
On the afternoon of January 28, 2022, Lei Jun responded to the matter on the Chinese social networking site Weibo, saying,
 
“Xiaomi Group has many subsidiaries, and the adjustments inside the board of directors and legal representatives of the subsidiaries is very normal. Don’t misunderstand this.”
In response to the speculation caused by Lei Jun’s withdrawal from several Xiaomi affiliates, on December 14, 2022, Wang Hua, general manager of Xiaomi’s public relations, responded on Weibo that this behaviour was a normal change.
 
He said that Lei Jun’s energy this year is mainly focused on matters related to car manufacturing, and senior executives can already share some related work and responsibilities. This is a gesture, but also an action.
