In December last year, Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 8cx platform, which is the world’s first 7nm-based Always Connected PC processor. At the MWC conference earlier this year, Qualcomm announced the launch of the world’s first commercial 5G PC platform, the Opteron 8cx 5G. At the Taipei Computer Show 2019, Lenovo plans to launch the world’s first 5G Windows 10 PC, which will use the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G platform. So the Lenovo Snapdragon 8cx 5G laptop which is set to arrive soon might be the one!
Qualcomm announced that it is working with Lenovo to open a new era of modern computing. In a social media caption, they wrote: “Coming soon: the world’s first #5GPC. #Snapdragon 8cx#5G”
What is the Lenovo Snapdragon 8cx 5G laptop capable of?
Designed for PCs, the new Snapdragon 8cx computing platform delivers outstanding performance, long battery life and Gigabit LTE connectivity. Compared to the Opteron 850, the Opteron 8cx is equipped with an Adreno 680 GPU that delivers 2x graphics processing power and 60% power efficiency. It will itself support dual 4K HDR external displays.
The new Kryo 495 CPU will deliver 2x performance. In terms of LTE, the Opteron 8cx will support speeds of up to 2gbps. Qualcomm also brings Quick Charge 4 and Aqstic audio technology support to the 8cx platform.
This laptop might be perfect for a lot of users looking for all-day battery life and integrated connectivity built right into their primary work device. Personally, I am really excited about a device like this as it would be thin, lightweight and allow me to get a lot of work done with ease!
