Mediatek Helio G90T specifications
The G90T would be an octa-core CPU and will come with support for up to 10 Gigabytes of RAM. The G90T and G90 use Cortex A76 and A55 cores which go up to 2.05 GHz. These chipsets are more in line with the flagship ones provided by Huawei and Qualcomm. The chip has a Mali G76 GPU and supports up to 800 Mhz frequency.
The chipsets also come with support for HDR10. Smartphone maker Xiaomi and few others are expected to come with their own smartphones featuring these chipsets really soon.
MediaTek Hyper Engine and other details
The chipset will also come with MediaTek Hyper Engine for better gaming performance during real-time gameplay. This is meant for better resource management, faster touch response as well as optimised picture quality. The chipset will also come with Networking Engine which will reduce the latency while gaming on WiFi as well as 4G LTE. In order to reduce latency, it will make use of any available connection between both. The gaming latency would be less than or equal to 100ms with the HyperEngine enabled, It would be better than the industry-accepted benchmark of 200ms.
The G90T has also received TUV Rheinland high network connection performance certification becoming World’s first to do so.
Its gaming network performance is claimed to be better than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset which is the flagship chipset offered by Qualcomm currently.
There will also be a rapid response engine bundled with the chipset. This means that the Touch to display response time would be reduced while gaming. The chip processing latency has become as less as 16.6ms or even lesser. Most competing smartphones have around 140 ms latency for touch input. Such a fast response will definitely benefit gamers.
There’s also a resource management engine bundled in with the chipset. It will intelligently allocate resources during gameplay in order to facilitate smoother gameplay. It works in conjunction with the DRAM, GPU and CPU resources to give better gameplay.
The Mediatek Hyper Engine benchmark claims a stutter rate of around 2 or less than 2 per minute for devices using the G90T.
There’s also a Picture quality engine whose job is to prioritize the contrast and brightness of in-game footage. This ensures a better gaming experience for players.
All of these breakthroughs ensure that the Helio G90T would be a great gaming chipset for gamers at a budget.
