On July 19, a significant issue involving Windows computers experiencing blue screens was widely reported. The problem, which appeared in many social media posts, was linked to a recent update from CrowdStrike that caused multiple IT systems to fail.
Microsoft confirmed the issue and stated they are working actively to restore the affected services.
Frank X. Shaw, Microsoft’s Chief Communications Officer, clarified that the CrowdStrike update led to the IT system failures.
He assured us that Microsoft would assist customers in resolving the issue. CrowdStrike also confirmed they are collaborating with affected clients and have released a fix. They noted that Mac and Linux systems were unaffected and emphasized that this incident was neither a security breach nor a cyberattack.
By the time of the report, Microsoft had resolved the core issue affecting Microsoft 365 services but continues to monitor the situation to ensure complete resolution.
