On May 17, Microsoft has announced the launch of a new offline meeting function for desktop and Mac users of Microsoft Teams.
This feature allows users to create calendar invitations for events such as private appointments, face-to-face meetings, and lunch breaks that do not require an internet connection.
The offline meeting function is similar to the “offline” feature already available in Outlook. With this feature, Teams users can mark their status as offline and do not need to attend scheduled video conferences.
Editorial Note: Users can schedule offline meetings in the same way as traditional meetings by selecting the “offline” option when creating a calendar event.
By turning off the additional “online” switch, Teams will not generate an online meeting link for the event. These offline Teams meetings will not have chat threads or other Teams online meeting items.
