Microsoft has been granted a new patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) that enhances privacy during screen sharing by allowing users to selectively hide applications.
This feature is particularly useful during meetings when unexpected messages could pop up on screen.
Users can temporarily hide or “hibernate” applications with flexible timing options such as 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or for the remainder of the day.
This patent ensures that only relevant content is displayed during screen-sharing sessions, avoiding any potentially embarrassing situations.
The patent also allows for hiding tabs or specific sections of the screen, with identifiers for these sections being relocated to a non-visible area.
