Today’s news report indicates that the Nothing Ear (stick) headphones now have an active noise reduction feature available to users through a firmware upgrade, based on feedback from many users.
To access the new active noise reduction function, users must update their firmware from version 1.0.1.76 to 1.0.1.85, which will then enable the active noise reduction switch in the App.
The Nothing Ear (stick) headphones were initially released in October 2022 at a price of $99 USD (approx. INR 6999 on Flipkart).
However, the active noise reduction feature was not available at launch.
The semi-in-ear design of the Nothing Ear (stick) headphones, which lacks silicone tips, has received some complaints from users about discomfort during prolonged use. The headphones feature a 12.6mm driver unit and a battery life of up to 29 hours with the charging case.
The cylindrical charging case is inspired by lipstick and is transparent when not in use to display the earphones. The earphones can be easily removed from the charging case with just one turn.
Additionally, the Nothing Ear (stick) headphones support Clear Voice Technology, which utilizes 3 microphones on each earbud to reduce wind and external noise during calls.
The touch functions on the earphones allow users to control playback, skip songs, adjust volume, and access their voice assistant.
The new earphones also have a Bass Lock feature that adjusts the bass in response to the surrounding environment. These earphones have an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance, and can provide up to 7 hours of music playback on a single charge.
The earphones support quick pairing with Android devices, and Nothing claims that they are designed for all-day comfort.
