Rankings released ahead of regional finals!

Team SOUL, HYDRA, TEAM INSIDIOUS and THE BRAWLERS, amongst the top 16 from India who will fight it out in the Regional finals and move closer to $2.5 USD prize pool

After two epic weeks of back-to-back competition and unmatched displays of skill in the world’s most popular mobile game, 16 elite teams from each region will be competing in thePUBG MOBILE CLUB OPEN 2019 Regional Finals in June! Vivo, the smartphone company, is the official title sponsor of PMCO 2019, providing smartphones to players and fans during both splits. Today’s PMCO regional qualifier news arrives just after Tencent Games and PUBG Corporation revealed a milestone for PUBG MOBILE as they recently reached 100 million monthly active users.

PUBG MOBILE today confirmed the qualifying 16 teams from each region who will move on to the regional finals in June, and eventually the PUBG MOBILE Club Open Global Finals in July. Check the list of the top 16 teams for each region here

The PMCO Spring Split India Finals will be held in the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in New Delhi. Qualifying teams from India will participate in the finals on June 14-15 for a chance to represent their country in the PMCO Global Spring Split Finals in Berlin, Germany. So far, the India region of the PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019 has seen remarkable feats of excellence, with semi-pro players like INSCartOonZz and BRAWLdark amassing 40 kills and 35 kills respectively. At the end of the regional semifinals, The Brawlers at 382 points, finished on top with a clear 51-point lead over Team Insidious and 111 points ahead of crowd favourites Team SOUL, who finished 4th. RIP official,l who were contenders at the PMIS 2019 as well, have also made it through to the next leg.

Team Insidious have been the kings of PUBG MOBILE Club Open India division. The team finished 1st in the group stage and led the rankings halfway through the semifinals as well, becoming the first org to stay on the top for two consecutive weeks. Before they could go three for three, however, Insidious was stopped by The Brawlers. In week 2 of the semifinals, The Brawlers punched up from their #2 position from last week and overtook Insidious by 50 points, entering the Finals stage as the highest-ranked team in India. And there’s another team we have to mention, team SOUL, which was ranked 16th and managed to get a big turnover in Semifinals week 2 and ranked 4th overall. Captained by Mortal, they also won the PMIS 2019 in India and will be carrying high expectations going into the finals.

In late 2018, with an unprecedented and monumental rise of PUBG Mobile in India, the brand hosted its first ever PUBG Mobile Campus Championship which saw immense success, with a total registration of 200,000 Indian users. Over 40,000 squads participated from over 1,000 colleges from across 30 cities. The college championship was covered with live commentary and matches were streamed live on PUBG Mobile’s YouTuber page. The Campus Championship, which was hosted in Bangalore, offered an industry first total prize pool of INR 50,00,000.

Furthering their efforts towards establishing India’s gaming ecosystem, PUBG MOBILE hosted India’s largest every e-sports event. In an industry first, the India Series 2019 made history with participation from over 575,000 players and had 400,000 games played across in-game and online qualifiers. The event provided Indian gamers and audiences with the perfect platform for an authentic eSports experience.

Unveiled at the PUBG MOBILE 1st Anniversary party, PUBG MOBILE Club Open 2019 (PMCO 2019) marked the start of the long-term and committed partnership by Tencent Games and PUBG Corporation with Vivo to build out a true mobile esports eco-system for the world’s most popular mobile game, PUBG MOBILE. The PMCO 2019 is divided into Spring Split and Fall Split, each with separate prize pool totalling $2.5 million USD. The Spring Split Global Finals will take place in Berlin this July which will feature teams from India based on the Regional Finals in Delhi.

Beginning March 22nd, more than 35,000 teams from around the world competed in the first online qualifiers for the PMCO 2019 Spring Split. The online qualification period ended on March 30th.
