Qualcomm is committed to introducing the Snapdragon platform for notebooks. They hope to compete with Intel in the field of computing devices by coming out with professional solutions of their own. For Qualcomm, the biggest advantage of notebooks equipped with their chipsets would be the long standby times for those devices just like modern smartphones.
Of course, the biggest shortcoming of Qualcomm Snapdragon platform notebooks is that their prices are not cheap and they cannot compete with Intel in terms of raw power as of yet.
For this, Qualcomm has developed the Snapdragon 7cx mobile platform for the low-end Windows notebook market. This might even make the whole idea of a cheap Windows based laptop really lucrative for a lot of people. Even I would be willing to pay $200 for a laptop which has an all-day battery life and does web related work with ease!
Qualcomm Snapdragon 7CX availability and details!
According to Windows Central, Qualcomm vice president Don McGuire revealed that Qualcomm is developing the Snapdragon 7cx. Compared with Snapdragon 8cx, the Snapdragon 7cx can reduce the cost pressure of PC manufacturers. This is mainly for notebook products with a price range of 300-800 US dollars i.e. 20K INR to 55K INR.
At present, Qualcomm is cooperating with software developers such as Microsoft. It is not clear when the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7cx mobile platform notebook will be available.
It is worth noting that Qualcomm and Lenovo launched the world’s first 5G notebook at COMPUTEX 2019. This laptop was equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx mobile chipset. It is expected to be released later this year.
