RealMe which started off as a sub-brand of OPPO is soon going to enter the Chinese market. In order to do so, they will focus on a budget flagship smartphone to counter the likes of Huawei and Xiaomi. There are two different models on the horizon, one is RMX1901 and the other is RMX1851. The latter has been out for some time now. Out of these two one model comes with a full bezel-less display. So a RealMe Snapdragon 855 flagship smartphone is a highly likely device.
Recent data on the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in China has shown both of these two models in listings.
The RMX1901 has a full-screen design and has no notch or water drop notch. On its back, there’s a centrally aligned dual camera module.
Even the images of both the models are out on Tenaa which shows the certification.
The images were tested for the front camera and it was found that there’s no traditional front camera on the RealMe device. It must have either a popup mechanism or some other innovative mechanism to house the front camera.
The listing reveals that RealMe RMX1901 has a 6.5″ display and a battery capacity of 3680 mAh. It has body dimensions of 161.2*76*9.4mm. 9.4mm is actually quite thick and it feels like it might have a mechanical design in order to achieve a full-screen design without any popup camera mechanisms etc.
RealMe is also expected to launch the recently released RealMe 3 Pro in the Chinese market.
What this news means for the already overcrowded Chinese market is still uncertain. But still, it’s really easily possible for them to make a mark there as pricing would determine how well they are received compared to the existing players.
