AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX Gaming Performance Exceeds Intel Core i9 13950HX by 10%

On March 11, the latest news revealed that AMD had announced the upcoming release of the Ryzen 7045HX series processors this month. Alongside this announcement, AMD also shared the game testing data for the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX processor.

AMD claims that their Ryzen 9 7945HX processor boasts a 10% advantage over the Intel Core i9 13950HX in 1080p gaming, as shown in the chart below.

The Ryzen 9 7945HX processor comes with 16 cores and 32 threads, with a maximum turbo frequency of 5.4GHz. For comparison, Intel’s latest Core i9 13950HX features 8 large cores and 16 small cores, a total of 24 cores and 32 threads, with a maximum frequency of 5.5GHz.

AMD has confirmed that the Alienware m16/18, ROG Strix series, and Lenovo Savior notebooks will be equipped with the Ryzen 9 7945HX flagship processor. The first gaming notebook to be launched with the Ryzen 7045HX series processor is the ROG Moba series.

The Ryzen 7045 HX series gaming notebook processors come in various models and parameters, as listed below:

  • Ryzen 9 7945HX: 16 cores and 32 threads, up to 5.4GHz, 80MB cache
  • Ryzen 9 7845HX: 12 cores and 24 threads, up to 5.2GHz, 76MB cache
  • Ryzen 7 7745HX: 8 cores and 16 threads, up to 5.1GHz, 40MB cache
  • Ryzen 5 7645HX: 6 cores and 12 threads, up to 5.0GHz, 38MB cache
