After months of a signature petition which saw over 10,000 signatures asking Samsung to bring back the Note series, Samsung finally launched Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on Tuesday with positive reviews from people. Though not much is changed from last Note 5, Galaxy Note 7 is still the best phablet you can get your hands on.
Though the Note 7 is going to launch on August 19th in select countries, it is already making a lot of buzz.
So without much fuss, here’s our first impression on the latest entrant of Samsung Galaxy Note family, Note 7.
Talking about the specs, The new Note comes with a 5.7 inch QHD display and Gorilla Glass 5 for protection, Snapdragon 820 chipset or Exynos 8890 chipset depending upon your region (India always gets Exynos one), 4GB of RAM, 64GB of on-board storage capacity with microSD card slot. A 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera in front. A 3,500mAh battery, fingerprint scanner, iris scanner, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support.
Note 7 is also the first in the Note series with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance and comes with USB type C Port, a first for Samsung. So you don’t need to worry about taking your phone to the beach, though it is advised against doing something like that.
The phablet is available in Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx colors. All the colors are very exciting and adds a lot to the value of the product. The Black Onyx in particular looks really appealing.
Display – Display of Note 7 is 5.7 inch Super AMOLED with QHD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution. The edges are similar to what you have seen in Galaxy S7 Edge but curvature is different. Watching 4K HD content won’t be an issue on this screen and the experience is very immersive for the user.
Power – With Note 7, you’ll get Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset or Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 octa-core chipset depending upon the region. The processors are paired with 4 GB of RAM, same as last Note device, so no advancement there. That said, there’s no lag in performance and no one seemed to have anything negative to say about the performance of this device.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 software and more
For security, Note 7 is accompanied by Iris Scanner. With Iris scanner, you can open files and apps stored in security folder. There’s also Fingerprint scanner along with it. Now this Iris scanner is exceptional, reason for saying that is because it works from a good distance too and is very reactive. Limited by Android’s own limitations only, the security in Note 7 is also exceptional.

The Galaxy Note 7 has Android Marshmallow as its operating system with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI covering it. Though I’m personally not a big fan of TouchWiz UI, I could hardly complain about its presence in the new Note. The phablet runs smoothly without any lags, as you’ll expect from such high end product.
There is also S pen Stylus making it return for the 6th time, doubling its sensitivity to over 4000 levels. You can also scribble a short note with it on locked screen.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is already making a lot of buzz and the early impressions says that the new Note will make a worthy successor of the Samsung Note family, how worthy is yet to see, but we can surely expect a lot from it.
