As per the news on June 18th, Sony’s PlayStation Plus membership service is currently offering three different tiers with varying privileges and prices. In a recent interview with technology media publication Gamesindustry, Sony stated that PlayStation players are more willing to pay for the highest tier PlayStation Plus membership.
During the interview, Nick Maguire, who is the head of Sony’s subscription business, revealed that the third tier of PlayStation Plus membership, which is called “Premium,” has a larger share than the second tier, which is called “Extra.” This fact surprised their team because they had previously believed that the “Extra” membership would be the most popular among players.
Maguire also mentioned that PlayStation is currently testing the streaming function of PS5 games and plans to make it available to “Premium” subscribers in the future.

- 48 Hong Kong dollars (about INR 503) per month

- 308 Hong Kong dollars (about INR 3226) per year
This tier offers two free games per month, exclusive discounts, cloud saves, and online multiplayer.
PlayStation Plus Extra (extra):
Hong Kong service price
- HKD 75 (about INR 786) per month
- HKD 215 (approximately INR 2252) per quarter
- HKD 515 (approximately INR 5394) per year
This tier offers all the features of the Essential tier as well as the ability to download and play up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games, including popular titles from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners.
PlayStation Plus Premium (includes the first two features):
Hong Kong service price
- HKD 85 (approximately INR 890) per month
- HKD 239 (approximately INR 2503) per quarter
- HKD 599 (approximately INR 6274) per year
This tier offers all the features of the Extra tier as well as access to up to 240 additional games, including PS3 games available via cloud streaming, streaming and download options for the OG classic games from the original PSP, PlayStation and PS2 generations apart from limited-time game demos as well.
Overall, all three tiers of PlayStation Plus membership provide players with two free games per month, exclusive discounts, cloud saves, and online multiplayer.
The “Extra” and “Premium” tiers offer additional features such as access to a large selection of PS4 and PS5 games for download and play, as well as access to classic games from previous generations and limited-time game demos. The “Premium” tier also provides access to PS3 games via cloud streaming.
