Steam Community Experiences Major Outage Affecting Multiple Features

Steam Community outage impacts Creative Workshop, profiles, and third-party logins, lasting several hours. Users report DNS issues and inaccessible services.

On June 2, a significant outage hit the Steam Community, rendering it inaccessible for several hours. This disruption affected various features including the game community, workshop, personal profiles, and third-party logins.

According to Downdetector, reports of issues with Steam services began around noon, with a large number of users affected.

An investigation revealed that the DNS resolution for Steam Community’s domain (steamcommunity.com) was failing. Although DNS issues were resolved and IP addresses could be resolved, services remained inaccessible.

Despite the community outage, the Steam Store remained unaffected, allowing users to access and browse game information as usual.

This situation highlights the need for robust infrastructure to support popular online platforms and prevent widespread service interruptions.
