Super Mario Bros: Wonder May Come With Online Multiplayer Mode

Nintendo Drops Hints About New 2D Game

On August 21, Nintendo officially announced the latest installment in the 2D Mario Bros. series, titled “Super Mario Bros. Wonder,” during their recent Direct meeting, ending an 11-year wait for fans.

As previously reported, the game had been rated by the ESRB and listed on their website as “Rated E” for ages 6 and up. The game supports cooperative play for 1-4 players using joysticks or controllers, leading many players to wonder if it would feature online play.

According to the latest information on the game from the Nintendo Store, details about “Online play” will be revealed at a later date, confirming that the game offers multiplayer functionality over the Internet.

In Super Mario Bros.: Wonder, players will once again take control of beloved characters like Mario and Luigi as they try to foil the plans of the game’s villains.

Players can be throwing projectiles or objects, or even toss small fireballs to knock enemies off-screen. The boss battles promise to be epic, featuring massive enemies that breathe fire and destroy parts of the environment.

Here’s the Official Statement from Nintendo:

“Incredible change “Wonder” If you touch the newly-appeared prop “Wonder Flower”, the gameplay of the level will be greatly changed. For example, the water pipe will move, a large group of enemies will appear, and it will transform into other postures… Each level has different surprises and exciting elements waiting for players.
Whether it’s Mario or your companions, let’s go on an adventure together Needless to say, Mario, Luigi, and Tonobio, as well as Peach, Daisy, and Yoshi, are playable characters. Up to 4 people can play together by sharing the Joy-Con. You can choose your favorite character and enjoy the adventure in various combinations.”

Scheduled for release on October 20, 2023, Super Mario Bros.: Wonder will be available exclusively on the Switch platform and features Simplified Chinese support, along with the ability to exchange any lost coupons.
