Not long ago, Intel introduced the i9-9900K's enhanced version i.e. the i9-9900KS. This processors base frequency is more than 4 GHz and it's really hyped up because all 8 of its cores can reach 5 GHz. But AMD's Ryzen 7 3800X Geekbench's multi-core score is still higher than the Intel Core i9 9900KS. Let's take a closer look at the Intel Core i9 9900ks GeekBench score. As seen from the above image a lot of things are different between the two systems. This is because of the platform differences. The Intel i9-9900KS scored 6129 points in the single-core test. Hence surpassing the AMD chip's 5,783 points. But in the multi-core run, the Intel i9-9900KS scored 34,003 points, while the Ryzen 7 3800x scored 36,748 points. This firmly reiterates what has been true since the past few years that Intel platforms are providing greater single-core performance while AMD platforms are better for multi-core and multi-threaded workloads. 5 GHz running on all 8 cores! Intel Core i9 9900ks GeekBench score details We also need to explain here, that the two processors are running on different platforms. The Intel Core i9-9900KS platform was running on the Z390 Aorus motherboard, RAM clock frequency used was 1067 MHz (DDR4-2133). On the other hand, the AMD processor uses ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Extreme X370 motherboard and it's RAM runs at 1730 MHz (DDR4-3460). The Intel i9-9900KS is expected to be available in the fourth quarter, with more detailed reviews coming out around the same time. So guys what do you think? Has AMD finally cemented its performance tag with the new Ryzen lineup? This is because the Intel Core i9 9900KS wouldn't be anywhere as cheap as the competing Ryzen 7 3800X.
