Uber announces Uber Plus pilot in 3 cities across India

Uber’s exciting new rewards program to be available in Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh as a part of the pilot phase!

Ride-sharing apps like Uber and Ola have been around since quite some time. But as these platforms matured and a lot of riders and drivers got connected with the whole ecosystem the scope of earning for a lot of drivers got down. It was very simple as the more the number of drivers the lesser the scope for them to get incentives or any exciting rewards!

Uberthe world’s largest on-demand ride-sharing company has now announced the pilot phase of its driver rewards program Uber Plus in Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh. The exclusive loyalty rewards program will enable driver partners to ensure more savings and access to exciting rewards, as they continue to drive with Uber.

Uber Plus details

The program enables Uber’s driver partners to earn points as they drive on the platform. These points are earned over a fixed period of every three months and can be accumulated and used to unlock rewards and a series of tiers. The higher the tier unlocked by the driver, the better the rewards they can access. Tiers available to the driver partners during the pilot will be Blue, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Rewards such as access to Free doctor’s consultation on call, Priority support, Discounted prices for educational modules, additional savings on maintenance cost, access to micro-loans as well as faster pickups at select Airports are available to eligible drivers in participating cities from July 1.

Speaking on the launch of the pilot, Prabhjeet Singh, Head of Cities, Uber India and South Asia said,

“We at Uber have always worked towards prioritising the welfare of our driver partners. Uber Plus is a massive effort in that direction, enabling our driver partners to garner more savings as a part of their everyday journey, and accomplishing their dreams. We want to recognise and reward our driver partners for their efforts and commitment through this program.”

When does it go live fully?

The program will currently be available to a sample group of driver partners, only in the 3 pilot cities. Uber will monitor progress and assess feedback before rolling it out to driver partners across the country.

So guys what do you think? Would this finally make Uber partners’ lives better and allow them to earn more than other platform drivers? Do let us know your opinions and thoughts in the comments section below!
