According to some recent rumours and sources, some motherboard manufacturers have reported new info about upcoming third zen Ryzen products. They have stated that compared to the Ryzen's second generation of CPUs the AMD Zen 2 based Ryzen 3000 series processor would have a frequency boost increased by up to 15%. The sources do not explicitly state whether this means 15% of the original performance improvement. That is, the average IPC (per clock performance) would be increased by 15% or not. But foreign publications and sources have said that AMD's new processor power consumption and heat generation would be appreciable. This means that the new product will provide more overclocking headroom. Previously leaked images of 3rd Gen Die! It's also worth noting that this data comes from some really early CPU samples. This also means that the clock speed on those may be lower than the final retail variants. A lot of publications have said that AMD AM4 Zen 2 samples can reach 4.5GHz, but the AMD memory controller improvements will not be as large as expected. It is reported that Zen 2 will be significantly improved compared to the first generation, adding more powerful AVX support to double its floating point performance. But even at this point of time, it's all hearsay and claims. We at Inspire2Rise are also still waiting for some review samples and real-world benchmarks before reaching any final conclusions.
