Xiaomi Mi Express Kiosks launched in India, goodbye waiting? Or Not?

Now you can buy their phones via vending machines!!!

Xiaomi is best known in India for providing great smartphones at affordable prices. One of the unique things about most of their products is the value for money proposition that they offer. But what’s really bad about the seemingly great products is their availability. Fans of the Redmi Note series are no strangers to waiting for months before being finally able to buy their favourite device. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro is one such example. A lot of people have been trying hard to buy this device from day one but many have not been really lucky. Xiaomi has tried to solve this problem in various ways in the recent past. By announcing unexpected sales, increased inventory and a lot more they have tried to alleviate the problems that consumers face. Right now they are trying something entirely new! Today Xiaomi announced a new innovative Mi Express Kiosks initiative across India.

The new Mi Express Kiosks are vending machines which allow consumers and Mi Fans to purchase Xiaomi smartphones and mobile accessories directly. The kiosks are designed to accept all forms of payments across credit cards, debit cards, cash and UPI, making it a highly convenient and hassle-free form of purchase for customers.

By introducing these vending machine-style kiosks, the brand has yet again developed an innovative New Retail strategy in reaching out to its consumers directly, eliminating operational and cost inefficiencies for the consumers. This enables Xiaomi to provide its latest smartphones to its Mi Fans at honest pricing, similar to that of their offline Mi Homes and Mi.com.

Even yesterday, when we tried to book a Redmi Note 7 Pro for a friend the situation, was rather grim. The phone was not available on Mi.com and the price on Amazon was 3K INR more than the official price!

Xiaomi India is the first ever brand in the Indian tech industry to introduce this innovative retail model, which also offers the efficiency of e-commerce business making it a cost-effective approach and is scalable. All technology equipping Mi Express Kiosks has been researched and developed in India, further extending the brand’s commitment to Make in India.

The company aims to set up several more kiosks in the coming months, and gradually expand the retail plan across more cities. These Mi Express Kiosks can be found across metro cities in public areas with greater footfall such as tech parks, metro stations, airports, and shopping malls.

Mi Express Kiosks serve as a highly effective New Retail initiative for consumers and Mi Fans to easily access and buy Xiaomi products instantly in offline markets. Furthermore, Mi Express Kiosks will soon be installed throughout the metro cities and customers can also easily access information on the locations of these kiosks on mi.com.
