Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi announced today that on May 2nd, Xiaomi will launch the Mi MIX 3 5G mobile phone through Swiss operator Sunrise, becoming one of the first mobile phones to let consumers experience 5G services for themselves.
The MI Mix 3 5G is one of the first phones announced with 5G support. It would come with the Snapdragon 855 chipset and the X50 LTE modem. The X50 and X55 modems are amongst the only Qualcomm modems which support 5G right now.

Xiaomi officials also demonstrated the 5G video call through the European operator Orange, and stressed that this is “true 5G”, not “fake 5G”. According to the demo, the entire video call process was very smooth. Right now some operators in the U.S are doing fake 5G as they are showcasing 4G+ as 5G on smartphones. This is a not a nice move for consumers.
At this year’s MWC conference, Xiaomi released the Mi MIX 3 5G mobile phone for Europe, priced at 599 euros which is about INR 46,720.

Apart from the processor upgrade from Snapdragon 845 to Snapdragon 855, baseband upgrade from X20 LTE to X50 5G. And battery capacity upgrade from 3200 mAh to 3800mAh. The Xiaomi MIX 3 5G version is almost the same as the regular version of Xiaomi MIX 3.
Xiaomi MI MIX 3 5G adopts a slider full screen design, magnetic power design. It has a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen. The screen to body ratio is up to 93.4%. The Bottom has a chin of 4.46mm and the front is almost all screen while the mobile phone thickness is at 8.46mm. It weighs 218g and is slightly bulky phone.
The Mi MIX 3 was the world’s first 10GB RAM phone at that time.It had a built-in 3200 mAh battery, and it supports 10W wireless fast charge. The super earpiece volume is 27% higher, with exclusive AI button. It can identify 7 dialects and has fingerprint recognition.
Xiaomi MIX 3 is equipped with rear AI dual camera along with front 24 MP soft light flash dual camera. The world’s authoritative camera evaluation site DxO Mark gave it a photo score of 108 points. It supports 960 frames slow motion videos and also comes with handheld super night scene. It supports optical zoom and has four-axis optical anti-shake.
