Xiaomi Redmi K30 specifications and price, launched in China!
The K30 and K30 5G have arrived, but will they come to India?
The Xiaomi Redmi K series was one of the first after the legendary PocoPhone F1 to bring Xiaomi’s promise of affordable flagships to the masses. The latest in their K series is the Redmi K30 and the K30 5G. Read on to know more about their specifications, rumoured prices and availability.

Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G specifications
Qualcomm recently announced their Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 765g SoCs and Xiaomi is amongst the first to use the 765g. The Redmi K30 5G will come with the 765 SoC. This will make it a 5G capable device. This will be the first device in the budget-friendly Redmi series to support 5G connectivity.
The phone would come bundled with Android 10 based MIUI 11. It will come in four storage versions i.e. the 6GB/ 64 GB storage variant. The 6GB/128 GB variant, 8/128 and the 8GB/256GB variant.
The K30 5G would sport a 6.67 inch LCD panel and would have a resolution of 2400*1080 pixels. It will have a 120 Hz refresh rate, which would also be a first-time occurrence for a Redmi series smartphone.
The display for this smartphone would come with a pill like punch hole notch up top. It sports a 20 MP selfie camera along with a 2MP depth-sensing sensor.
The K30 5G also comes with a unique sort of back camera placement. There’s a quad-camera setup at the back which is placed in a circular sort of housing. There’s a 64MP Sony IMX686 main sensor, 8MP ultrawide sensor with up to 120 degrees of field of view. It will also sport a 5 MP macro sensor along with a 2MP depth-sensing module.
The fingerprint sensor is on the power button embedded on the right-hand side. It’s one of the more practical designs around and it’s something that we have already seen in the likes of the Honor 20.
The Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G edition also comes with a copper tube-based mechanism for liquid cooling and has dual-frequency GPS along with support for Bluetooth 5.1.
It comes with a 4500 mAh battery along with support for 30W fast charging, whether the fast charger is included in the retail box or not is something that’s yet to be seen.
It will come in four different colour options i.e. Red, Blue, White and Purple.

The Redmi K30 sports a similar design to the K30 5G model but there are some differences. It will come with a Snapdragon 730G chipset and won’t support 5G.
It will also have a lower resolution 2MP macro camera sensor. It also has a slightly downgraded charging speed at around 27w.
The K30 also doesn’t pack in dual-frequency GPS and has support for only Bluetooth 5.0. It will be available only in three colours Purple, Red and Blue.

The Redmi K30 would start at a price point of $230 and the base variant for the K30 5G version starts at $285. At these price points, they are still really lucrative devices!
The Redmi K30 5G goes on sale in China from January 2020, but the normal K30 model would go on sale from December 12. There’s no final word yet as to when the Redmi K30 would be available in other markets like India!
