August 5th news: Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group, and Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi Technology, have been teasing the performance of the Redmi K60 Extreme Edition mobile phone on their personal Weibo accounts since yesterday afternoon.
They have also released several promotional images showcasing the device’s gaming performance and benchmark running scores.
Lei Jun boasted that the phone achieved first place in performance running scores and revealed that it features a new gaming engine 2.0, which significantly enhances the overall gaming experience.
The device sports a 1.5K screen resolution and supports a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring smoother gameplay.
According to the officials, popular RPG games run almost at full FPS. Lu Weibing clarified the concept of “AI upscaled super-resolution,” stating that the device uses its self-developed gaming engine technology to improve image quality and then leverages the independent graphics chip X7 to upscale games to a higher 1.5K resolution.
Earlier today, Lei Jun took to Weibo to announce that the Redmi K60 Extreme Edition scored over 1.77 million in benchmark tests, leading the Android performance chart and offering both super-resolution and high FPS at excellent quality.
Previous reports confirmed that the Redmi K60 Extreme Edition would launch this month, featuring the powerful Dimensity 9200 + processor and X7 independent graphics chip. It will also come equipped with 16GB of onboard RAM.
Additionally, the State Administration for Market Regulation’s mandatory product certification information reveals that the phone will offer four distinct charging options: 5Vdc 3A, 9Vdc 3A, 11Vdc 6A Max, and 20Vdc 6A Max, with a maximum charging power of 120W.
Zeng Xuezhong, President of Xiaomi Group’s Mobile Phone Department, has announced that the K60 Extreme Edition will receive the first batch of significant software updates alongside other Xiaomi flagship models.
Furthermore, the Redmi K60 Extreme Edition is expected to have a starting price tag of CNY 3,099, approximately INR 36K or USD 448. However, there’s no announcement of an official release date yet.
