OnePlus 7 Pro to feature best in class display, gets DisplayMate’s A+ rating!

oneplus 7 pro display mate a plus rating

The upcoming OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro are highly awaited smartphones. Both of them would have almost similar features. But the one area where both would differ highly would be the display. While the normal OnePlus 7 would carry forward the tradition of a waterdrop notch display. The OnePlus 7 Pro would have a full view display with a popup camera mechanism.

One plus officials have confirmed that they will officially release the new flagship OnePlus 7 Pro in Bangalore, New York etc. on 14th of May. It would be released in China at the Yanqi Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing on May 16th. The official slogan this time is “Go Beyond Speed”.

In terms of shape and specifications, rumours have been floated that the OnePlus 7 will have a rear dual camera, 3700mAh battery and 20W fast charge. While the OnePlus 7 Pro is upgraded to 6.6-inch 2K resolution screen, 90Hz refresh rate. It would have three cameras (48MP + 8MP telephoto + 16MP wide angle), a 4000mAh battery (30W fast charge), etc.  It will also have a pop-up front camera with a high resolution and an almost bezel-less display. The biggest selling point of the OnePlus 7 Pro, in addition to being silky smooth with 90Hz, would be the upgraded Optic AMOLED panel.

Today, Liu Zuohu said on Weibo that the quality of the screen would be a unique feeling for ordinary users and requires an objective evaluation standard.

“DisplayMate is the most rigorous and authoritative display evaluation agency in the United States, and few products receive A-level certification. Today we are very happy because OnePlus 7 Pro has received the highest A+ certification for DisplayMate.”

It is reported that OnePlus 7 pro reportedly uses a custom panel from Samsung. It is a customized version of Optic AMOLED. According to the official statement, it is based on Samsung’s Super AMOLED display, and the screen quality has been re-calibrated to further optimize parameters like contrast, colour temperature and display legibility under strong light.

Previously, Liu Zuohu said,

“I believe that once you have used the new products we are about to release, you can no longer look back. Don’t say that you have no need for a great screen, it is because you have not seen a better screen.”

So what do you think? Would the great display on the OnePlus 7 Pro be enough to justify the steep price hike to around $500 or more? Do let us know in the comments section below!
