Today on March 18th, a Chinese blogger released Cinebench benchmark scores for a suspected processor, believed to be the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor designed for laptops. According to the released figures, the alleged Ryzen 7 7840U processor is an 8-core, 16-thread processor with a base frequency of 3.3 GHz. In comparison, AMD has already released the Ryzen 7 7840HS processor, which is also an 8-core, 16-thread processor, but with a higher clock speed of 3.8 GHz. Regarding performance, the suspected Ryzen 7 7840U processor achieved a multi-core running score of 14825 points in Cinebench R23. For comparison, the average multi-core running score for the Ryzen 7 6800U processor, compiled by CPU monkey, is 10412 points. The blogger claimed that this processor has "half the power consumption, improved single-core and multi-core performance, and nearly double the graphics performance." It's important to note that the comparison is being made against Intel's competing products. Additionally, the blogger hinted that Lenovo's new laptops may feature an ultrabook-style model to showcase the full potential of this processor. Earlier today, foreign tech media disclosed that AMD has delayed the launch of the Ryzen 7 7040HS series processors until April, and the launch of the 7040U series may also be in April or later.
