Huawei P20 and P20 pro specifications and price in India

With the trend for smartphones with displays containing notch reaching it’s peak Huawei also chimed in with it’s P20 and P20 pro earlier yesterday. The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro both are absolute camera monsters. Huawei has had a history of focussing on camera centric devices and on paper both of these smartphones look gorgeous but we have to use them in detail in order to find out whether that super sweet megapixel count has some real world significance or not!

Huawei P20 pro specifications:

Let’s start with the P20 pro, it comes with Huawei’s own Kirin 970 chipset, EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. It has 6.1 inch AMOLED screen ultra thin bezels and also comes with a notch on top. The P20 pro comes with 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage and it also has active noise cancellation via a dedicated microphone.

It has a Mali-G72 MP12 GPU, 4000 mAh Li-Po non removable battery and would be available in Twilight, midnight blue, black and pink gold colours.

It has a full HD+ resolution, 81.9% screen to body ratio (18.7:9 aspect ratio), USB type C (USB 3.1 connector) and is IP67 dust and water resistant.

The main talking point of the P20 pro is it’s triple camera setup. It has a 20 MP monochrome sensor with f/1.6 aperture, 40 MP RGB sensor with f/1.8 aperture and OIS and has an 8 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 3x optical zoom is present.

It can shoot 4k videos at 30 fps, 1080p videos and also 720p videos at 960 fps for super slow motion. The secondary camera comes with a 24 MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and upto 1080p video recording.

Huawei P20 specifications:

The P20 is the smaller sibling to the P20 Pro and hence it packs less features. It has the same Kirin 970 chipset and Mali GPU but a lot of other parts are different. It comes with a 5.8 inch full HD+ display, 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB storage and a 3400 mAh Li-Po non removable battery.

The camera on this one is a dual 12 MP with f/1.8, 1/2.3″,1.55 uM pixel size (+OIS) and 20 MP with f/1.6 aperture and 2X lossless zoom with PDAF and laser autofocus. The camera module also comes equipped with a dual tone LED flash. It can shoot upto 2160p 4K UHD video at 30 frames per second, 1080p videos and 720p super slow motion videos at 960 FPS.

The selfie camera is a 24 MP one with f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording support.

It supports dual band wifi and comes with Bluetooth 4.2 support.

It would be available in the exact same colours as the P20 pro.

So guys this was it, these smartphones look like absolute beasts in terms of specifications but we will wait for the final Indian pricing and a lot of other things in order to determine whether these smartphones would put the Indian market on fire or not!
